RAYMOND – Tiffany Jefferson, director of ºÚÁÏÉçÇø’s Montage Theatre of Dance, has been named the recipient of two industry honors, one national and one local.

Jefferson, of Terry, was this month awarded the Del Kieffner Award for 2020 by Florida-based nonprofit Performing Arts Educators. The award goes to a deserving instrumental, choral or dance director who go above and beyond to mentor performing arts students.

She has also been named a 2020 City with Soul honoree by the Jackson Music Awards Association, which held a virtual event in July to recognize her and other award winners.

A founder of the dance group at ºÚÁÏÉçÇø, Jefferson has worked at ºÚÁÏÉçÇø since 2005 and is a lead dance instructor at Dance Works Studio, in Clinton. She has studied and performed with numerous dance theatres and productions in the U.S. and abroad.

She holds master’s degree in dance education from Wichita State University and earned her undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University, where she was an All-American cheerleader and won the 1996 Miss Black Oklahoma pageant. She is pursuing a Ph.D. from Jackson State University. She and her husband, Joe, are the parents of three, Jordan, Jones and Kennedy.
